Night Eating
Jake woke up about 3:30 a.m. this morning, crying. That's not unusual around here for someone to wake up in the middle of the night and need covers, milk, they had a bad dream, etc. But, Jake came up with something new last night....when I went in there and calmed him down, he said he was hungry and wanted a banana. I tried to play it off and get him back to sleep, but he persisted. Of course the boys ate the last banana that we had that day for lunch. So, in my desire to go back to sleep and make this nightmare for me end, I offered him a breakfast bar. I took it in there wrapped, hoping he would just drift off to sleep and not open it. But, of course, he demanded that I open it. SO, I opened it, tucked him in and left. Just in case any of you think that this sounds like a good idea, to give a three year old a breakfast bar, in bed, in the middle of the night, it is NOT. This morning when he woke up, there was breakfast bar smeared into his pj's and sheets. Nice! Next time, I guess I'll have to fight a little harder and not try to crawl back in bed so quickly :)
