Swimming at Wootie & Jeffro's

We got to have some fun at the pool at Wootie & Jeffro's with Uncle Jared, Aunt Jodi & Peyton. Daddy & Granny spectated. Jake got to try out the slide and diving board and thought that was pretty cool (Josh did the slide, but wasn't a huge fan - he hit his head at the bottom).

Top Ten Things About Being a Daddy:



1. You have to be willing to play chase every night, even after you've gotten home from a 10-12 hour work day.

2. You miss your kids like crazy, even when you are away from them for an hour.

3. You go in and check on your boys every night to make sure they are snug and safe before you go to bed.

4. You work hard and make sacrifices so Mommy can stay home with the boys, and never complain when everyone is still asleep when you leave every morning.

5. You work hard every day so your boys and family can have all the things they want!!

6. You've given over 1,000 baths in the past four years, and happily give them every night.

7. You read the Bible to your boys every night.

8. You go outside and play baseball with your boys, even when it's 100 degrees outside.

9. You are always the name your kids cry out for when they get hurt or are in trouble.

10. You are EVERYTHING we could ever want or ask for in a Daddy!

Anticipation

Jake REALLY wanted to go fishing while we were at the lake. I was not prepared (had no minnows or worms), and am not the best fisher-woman in the world, but we grabbed some lunch meat and headed down to fish for a while. We saw a lot of fish and had a bunch of nibbles, but couldn't hook any. Hopefully Daddy will be there next time and help us reel one in! (Josh could have cared less about fishing. He was busy eating a snack!) Jake was very patient though and very focused on catching one! Better luck next time...

We got to sneak a quick little trip to "Gigi's Lake" with Cookie. The boys had fun playing in the water.

A Natural

I think Jake is just going to be a natural at sports. He's a good golfer and is good at baseball. We may be in trouble once he starts t-ball though because he really prefers to be pitched to!! Here are some action shots (I tried to get him making contact with the ball, but had no luck!).
