Hello Again

I haven't written a post in almost five months and am SOOOOO far behind. Hopefully one day, I can go back and catch up on the past five months, but for now I will give you a quick summary....

Jake is in kindergarten, which has rocked our (probably mainly my) world a little bit. My days are no longer my own to do with as I please. I need to be out of bed by 6:30 a.m. fixing breakfast, getting lunches packed, getting boys fed/dressed/teeth brushed, myself dressed and out of the house by 7:45. And, by 2:40 everyday, I need to be heading back up to the school to get him. Not to mention the days that Josh has preschool and I have to get him back and forth. So, that is one thing that has made life so busy.

Cookie & Papa celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and we had a party for them, which occupied a couple of weeks getting prepared for.

Our church hosted a women's retreat, which I was in charge of, and that took a lot of time to prepare for!!

We found out we were having a baby GIRL, yes, a third child, so I felt like poo for several months and not much extra energy!

Halloween!

Joshy turned FOUR!!

We decided to do a little remodeling to our house (see three sentences above!). What I thought was a pretty easy, simple renovation has turned out to be a NIGHTMARE! We started Nov. 1 and are still not done (that's a whole post in and of itself!).

We travelled to Cookie & Papa's for Thanksgiving.

I planned/hosted a Ladies' Christmas Dinner at our church.

Jake has had strep three times. Josh has had strep once and a double ear infection.

We travelled to Wootie & Jeffro's after Christmas.

I had a wonderful baby shower, hosted by some dear friends for Miss Julia.

We had our first trip to the emergency room for stitches with Joshy.

And now, here we are one week away from having our third child!

So, all of that to say, we have been busy with life!! Hopefully I will get to go back and document all of that more for my own memory's sake sometime soon, but until then....

The whole reason I decided to post was that Joshy said something this morning that I don't want to forget...

We were on our way to take Jake to school and Josh asked, "Mom, does God love bad guys?"
Me: "Yes Josh, God loves everyone, even bad guys."
Josh: "God doesn't make bad guys, does he mom? He makes everyone good and they choose to be bad guys."

How profound that even my four year old gets that God gives us choices. He gives us the freedom of whether to follow Him, obey Him and trust in Him. It is so neat to hear my children thinking about God and retaining some of the information they have been taught!

Hopefully I will return to post again before five more months pass by and have some pictures to add to the post!! Until then...

My Little Bug

Here's Joshy on his first day of 3-year old Wee School. Since Jake started kindergarten, Josh has been ready to start school himself. He did great. He was a pro! Walked in, set down and had no problems. Other kids in the class were screaming, crying and trying to exit the room, so I did not get a pix with Mrs. Heather or Mrs. Jodi, but we'll have to get one soon! When I went to pick him up, Mrs. Heather bragged and bragged on Joshy saying how mature he is, how well behaved and well mannered he is, and how he seems so much older than 3! We love you Joshy bug and hope you have a wonderful year at Wee School!

Sometimes

Sometimes I like to stay up until midnight and build a fort in my room, count my money, play with block,s and pull out every toy I own instead of sleep...

Then sometimes I fall asleep while in the middle of playing with my cool ironman computer....

Daddy decided that a good way to celebrate the first week of school would be to go to a Rangers game, so he bought tickets and we went Friday night (plus Daddy really wanted to go to a game!!).

Papa had to come to the area for a meeting, and came up to visit us! We let Jake choose what he wanted to do for the day (since he's the kindergartener and all), and he chose bowling. Here are some pictures from our fun outing! Thanks for a great weekend Papa!

Prayers

Jake's prayer at dinner the other night..."Dear God....thank you for everything you give us, except skunks and ants....Amen." I kind of have to agree with him on this one;)

Jake's prayer at breakfast on the first morning of kindergarten.."Dear God, thank you for kindergarten. Help us to be good boys and forgive us when we are bad boys....Amen." Let's hope there are more good boy days than asking for forgiveness;)

VaCaTiOn part 2

More pix of Branson:) We got to go to the Dixie Stampede, a magic show, to see a ventriloquist, lots of swimming at the hotel and to a cool dinosaur putt-putt course with a volcano that shot fire. I didn't get pix of any of these outings (the shows don't allow cameras), but they were fun!
